Minutes Of a special meeting held on 4 January 2005

At Hutton Roof Village Green

Present Lesley Smith; Alan Tiffin; Michael Bohling;  Ernie Teasdale;  Ernest Bird; Robert Jackson; Ronnie Wilson; Les Wilson

Apologies Dorothy Chalk

§        Site visit was arranged to view the work undertaken on the green and particularly the area of water located beside the stile and footpath.  Wilson’s, the contractors, are not happy with the finished work on the track which is due, in part, to the extremely wet weather.  They will return when the weather improves to complete the work and we do not have to pay the invoice until the work has been completed to our satisfaction.

§        As a short term measure, a small work party will try to improve the drainage of the track and arrange for some quarry waste to be delivered to the area that is very wet.    A trench will also be dug to drain the water to the small pond.

§        A letter has been sent to Mr Barnes asking him to remove the gate and keep the road clear of vehicles.  However, it was agreed by all councillors present that the gate could remain and could be used when the cattle are being moved.

§        An outline budget for the coming year had been circulated prior to the meeting as it was necessary to agree the precept for submission to Eden District Council before the January meeting.  The outline budget highlighted a precept of £1500 to £2000 although certain items of expenditure such as the request for funds by the Northern Fells Rural Group and Mungrisdale Church Yard would be considered at subsequent meetings.

§        Ronnie Wilson proposed a precept of £1000 seconded by Les Wilson and that any shortfall for expenditure should be met from our reserves.  All agreed.
