10/050 Noticeboard Update

The new noticeboard for Berrier is in situ. Invoice was £538.00 as opposed to the £510.00 quoted. The Bowscale noticeboard will be the same price and will be sited on the opposite side of the road to where it is now. The planners have been notified and have agreed to its new position.

10/051 Highways Update

Some residents of Hutton Roof have requested funds from the Parish Council to recover the cost of cleaning out Hutton Roof village pond. Last year the Lake District National Park scheduled some work for the village green in Hutton Roof which the Park would fund but due to the poor weather conditions the work was never done. The subject was raised again this year but due to lack of funding it has slipped down the Park’s priority list. The residents involved in the work wanted to make headway on cleaning the pond while the weather was good and managed to dredge 84 tonnes of sludge and sluice themselves. The total cost of the work undertaken by residents is £110.00 and was kept to a minimum by the hands-on approach of those involved. Bert Richardson suggested that the project should be entitled to funding from the Eden Neighbourhood Forum and the clerk will investigate this. It was unanimously agreed by councillors that if such a grant is not forthcoming then the Parish Council will fund the costs incurred.

10/052 Clerk Annual Review – A review of the clerk’s roles and responsibilities was conducted by the Chairman and Vice Chairman as per the clerk’s contract. No issues were raised.
