Mungrisdale Women's Institute meeting on 3rd March 2004

There were 50 member and guests in attendance at the March meeting for Mungrisdale WI which was held in the existing Village Hall in Mungrisdale before the builders move in. It was the very last meeting in the hall which was brought to the village by the WI  for the use of the local community many years ago.

The members also agreed that the WI  should make a contribution to the new village hall.

It was a very full  and enjoyable evening with a table top sale, raffle and a trade fair stall in support of fair trade fortnight.

A number of  items belonging to the institute were also on display including a cloth and details of this are being sent to the National Needlework Archive.  There was also a shield, glass bowl and a jubilee goblet.

The Speaker for the evening was  Louise Shaw from the Stroke Association, who gave a very informative  talk and a vote of thanks was given by Margaret Teasdale.
