Update on financial position

                Parish Council pre-meeting account balances currently stand at £5788.02

10/007 Request for funds – Parochial Church Council of St Kentigern’s Church – A letter has been received requesting financial assistance from the Parish Council towards the upkeep of the churchyard for the coming year. Total budget for grants is £400 and last financial year (March 2009) the Council granted £300 to the PCC.

10/008 Cumbria Community Foundation – CALC has sent out information regarding contributions by Parish Councils to the Cumbria Flood Recovery Fund set up by the Cumbria Community Foundation. The Fund ‘s objective is to assist individuals, families and voluntary groups who suffered during the flooding in November 2009. Under Section 137(3) of the Local Government Act 1972 a council may make a donation to a UK charity that does not necessarily have to directly benefit  the council’s area or inhabitants. Councillors to discuss whether the Parish Council will make a contribution. More information about the charity is available at www.cumbriafoundation.org

10/011 Land Lets – Councillors to discuss whether to continue with the current terms of the land lets for the next twelve months

10/012 Parish Land Maintenance – Councillors to discuss how to proceed with parish land maintenance for the following year with the increased budget, defining work to be undertaken and how it will be allocated.

10/013 Eycot Farm Caravan Update

10/014 M Sport Activities in Greystoke Forest – Update from the last Eden District Council planning meeting. At the last Parish Council Meeting it was suggested the Parish Council should meet with M Sport. Do councillors wish to proceed with a meeting? It was reported at the last meeting that roads within the forest have been concreted. A councillor would like to put on record that this in fact is not the case and concrete has not been used in the road upgrades.

10/015 BT Phone Boxes – News from Eden District Council on the proposed removal of the BT phone boxes.

10/016 Wild Ponies on the Fell Update – Progress on the castration programme of the wild ponies on the fell

10/017 Noticeboard Update – Progress on the new noticeboard  at Berrier. Councillors are to discuss whether there is a continued requirement for the noticeboard at Bowscale as raised at the last meeting.

10/018 Highways Update – Update on outstanding works raised with the Highways Steward
